If your name is Mohammed you are less likely to get a positive reply for a flatshare

People from ethnic minorities are less likely to receive a positive reply when they enquire about a flatshare.

A recent Guardian investigation found out that people with Muslim names get far less positive replies. The survey was carried out as part of Bias in Britain series.

Some adverts for flat share specify " no black, no Irish, no dogs". This type of discrimination, normally, belongs to a distant past.

Last year, a landlord was taken to court after barring Asian people from renting his properties because of the lingering curry smell they leave in his properties.
